Scope of these terms

These terms apply to the KLD Institute public website, course previews, templates, lesson materials, policy pages, and any learner access provided through KLD systems.

By using the site or course materials, visitors and learners agree to use them lawfully, respectfully, and for learning or review purposes. Additional written terms may apply to paid cohorts, partner programs, or private course access.

02

Course materials and templates

KLD owns or licenses the curriculum structure, lesson pages, templates, diagrams, slide materials, tutorial notes, rubrics, and other institute materials unless stated otherwise.

Visitors and learners may use KLD materials for personal learning, class participation, and authorized review. Materials may not be copied, resold, republished, or presented as another program without written permission.

  • Personal learning use
  • Class participation
  • Authorized review
  • No resale or republication
03

Learner work

Learners keep ownership of their original work, including submitted artifacts, notes, prompts, boards, briefs, and case stories. KLD may review learner work to provide teaching, feedback, assessment, support, and course improvement.

KLD will not publicly identify a learner or publish an identifiable learner artifact without permission. De-identified examples may be used to improve teaching quality and explain common learning patterns.

  • Learner-owned artifacts
  • Teaching and feedback use
  • Permission for public showcase
  • De-identified quality improvement
04

Responsible AI use

KLD teaches AI as a practice partner, not as a substitute for judgment. Learners are responsible for checking AI output, identifying assumptions, disclosing AI assistance where requested, and avoiding fabricated evidence or unsupported claims.

AI tools used by learners may have their own terms, privacy settings, and data handling practices. Learners must avoid submitting confidential, sensitive, or third-party material into external AI tools unless they have permission and the tool is approved for that use.

  • Check AI output
  • Disclose AI assistance
  • Avoid fabricated evidence
  • Respect third-party tool terms
05

Access, payment, and refunds

Course access, cohort participation, partner workshops, refunds, cancellations, and payment terms are handled through the written offer or agreement that applies to that access route.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. If KLD cannot provide a paid service as agreed, KLD will provide an appropriate remedy consistent with the relevant agreement and applicable law.

  • Written offer terms
  • Course access conditions
  • Refund and cancellation route
  • Consumer law rights preserved
06

Service changes and access limits

KLD may update public pages, lesson materials, templates, course pathways, and access arrangements as the institute develops. KLD aims to keep public status language clear when a course is active, planned, preview-only, or available by enquiry.

KLD may suspend or restrict access where there is misuse of materials, harassment, security risk, non-payment for paid access, or conduct that undermines a serious learning environment.

  • Course updates
  • Access status changes
  • Misuse of materials
  • Learning environment protection
07

Limitations

KLD materials are educational resources. They do not replace legal, financial, medical, migration, employment, or professional advice. Learners and organizations remain responsible for decisions they make using course materials or AI-assisted outputs.

KLD works to keep materials accurate and useful, but learning materials may contain errors, outdated references, or examples that need adaptation to a specific context.

  • Educational use
  • No professional advice
  • Context-specific decisions
  • Report errors or concerns
